It might be the weather. Kansas City weather is extreme and unpredictable. Nate Silver says it’s so. Maybe it’s to see family. A change of scenery. Or you have vacation days burning a hole in your pocket. Whatever the reason, travel is fun! If you’re reading this website, any travel you take probably incorporates beer. But what’s the best way to enjoy your travels, try new things, and get it home safely?

Draft Magazine has published a new article of 10 Practical Tips for Beer Travelers, written by Springfield, Missouri’s own Joe Stange. I was asked to contribute some travel tips of my own, and a couple made the cut.

Head over to Draft Magazine before you book your next getaway. It’d be a shame to lose your bottles of gold on the flight home because you didn’t pack accordingly.

I began the path through good beer in college. Exploring different sixers and bombers based on packaging and label design (art student, mind you), I weaved my way around the continental lagers and Colorado craft ales. My knowledge and interest exploded upon receiving a homebrewing equipment kit as a graduation gift from my parents. Twelve years later, I've brewed most styles, experimented between them, and hunted for the perfect pint.
