The Foundry has announced details for Zwanze Day on December 1. There will be only 120 tickets available for $30 cash starting at 11:00 am the morning of the event. Your Jackson and Hamilton will get you 6-ounce pours of four Cantillon lambic beers. Here is the lineup with pouring times:

  • Cantillon Fou’Foune (two-year-old lambic with apricots), noon
  • Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise (“mild” lambic with lots of raspberries, aged in wine casks), 12:30
  • Cantillon Iris (all-barley lambic made with some fresh hops), 1:00 pm
  • Cantillon Zwanze toast, 2:00 pm

If that’s not enough funk for you (and four 6-oz. pours may not be), the Foundry will be selling other rare sour beers that day. Highlights of that list include Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze, and vintage Boulevard Saison-Brett and Bourbon Barrel Quad.

Come early to get your tickets. And be kind if you see some bearded guy sleeping in front of the Foundry. That might just be me.

I began the path through good beer in college. Exploring different sixers and bombers based on packaging and label design (art student, mind you), I weaved my way around the continental lagers and Colorado craft ales. My knowledge and interest exploded upon receiving a homebrewing equipment kit as a graduation gift from my parents. Twelve years later, I've brewed most styles, experimented between them, and hunted for the perfect pint.
